Very finely detailed half-tone carvings of photos in premium Maple.

3D photo carvings you can touch, rendered by creating a height map of the photo. Entire surface of wood is carved away.

Rendering is achieved by creating a height map of the photo.
Darker areas cut deeper, lighter areas cut shallower.
The painted carving is lightly and selectively sanded to lighten the tone of the paint on the physically higher portions, leaving the darker areas untouched, thereby revealing the original photo’s contrast.

Essentially the same as a Photo Carving except that the lines are much wider (and consequently deeper) and spaced further apart and the carvings are done on painted MDF or other suitable material with a core that contrasts with it’s surface.

Essentially the same as a Relief Carving except that the carving height map is a negative of the Relief Carving height map
